Who we are

The Black Canvas team is a bright and energetic group of talent, who live and breathe creative expression. Our work atmosphere is relaxed and fun, and we all love what we do. Together, we have many years of experience in graphic design, branding and web design. Black Canvas is a team of enthusiastic, highly credentialed professionals who consider it a privilege to help organisations bridge the gap between business direction and creative expression.


From your logo to your print collateral, to your online presence – we do the lot. Our clients love the fact that there is seamless transition of their brand from one element to the next. It is the reason why our brands look so good!

WHO WE ARE

At Black Canvas, we want to build a team of designers. What this means for you and us is, we’re not just the designer or the creative person, but we are the sales team, we clean up and wash up, we greet clients and get them a coffee, we do everyday admin, we meet with clients, we answer the phone, create quotes, we are interested in technology and design trends, we get each other coffee and tea, we work hard, we have fun, and we love what we do!

The Black Canvas team is made up entirely of design experts. We’re the creatives behind each project, but we’re also the people who answer the phones, greet you at reception and make cuppas for client meetings. 


When you partner with Black Canvas, you can be sure you’re working with design professionals from start to finish. We’re with you every step of the way.

Black Canvas started with sister duo, Kristy and Anna in 2009, and has grown to an amazing team of designers. We all love our job, our community, and serving our clients through design.

We’re sisters, but we don’t fight. We have similar skills, but we are quite different. We have worked together for years and still choose to holiday together as well.


We believe great things can be achieved and there can be many advantages when working with the ‘family-force’.


The important thing is finding like-minded people to do business with - those who share the same goals, passions and ideals, whether they are related or not.

We're located in the Toowoomba City Centre, in the beautiful leafy street of Isabel. We are Toowoomba locals, having been in the city centre since 2009.


Our quaint little cottage is over 100 years old and is steeped in such great history. We’re lucky to work in a city that offers such a diversity of people, landscapes and creative inspiration. We do love Toowoomba. Please drop in and say hello any time!

  • How long does it take to create a logo?

    The creative process for a new logo usually takes two weeks from receipt of your deposit.

  • Is a logo design included when you design a business card or website?

    No, it is important to establish a logo first. We place a lot of emphasis on the logo design, as all other branding flows from this.

  • How much does a logo cost and what does that include?

    Our logos are custom designed, tailored to the individual needs and requirements of your business, organisation or event. We spend many hours researching, designing and refining the mark that will represent your company for many years to come. Along with these concepts we will present ideas on how your brand might look in application.

  • What is branding?

    Branding is the consistent look and feel of your business through the various points of contact you have with potential customers, staff and the general public.

  • Can you help me name my business?

    Yes, we can help name your new business venture. Our copywriters would be involved in this process and would be undertaken at an additional cost.

  • Who registers my business name?

    Registering your business name is up to you. We will not commence logo design unless your name is registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). If you are unsure about this process, please seek assistance from your accountant, lawyer or trade mark attorney. Once your logo is designed you can register this as a trade mark to provide legal protection against imitators and give you exclusive use of the name and brand. This process is the responsibility of the individual.

  • Can Black Canvas help me with marketing?

    Our expertise is in designing the collateral for marketing. We can call on our marketing partners should you require a marketing plan or advice. We enjoy working directly with Marketing Managers of larger organisations.
